[More cracking. You ever heard of being shocked speechless? Well, apparently this whole thing is having the opposite effect on Red.]
Blue--
[His voice breaks off again and he stops, bites his lip and swallows something down. But it's no use. He has to say it now. Who knows when Blue could be taken away again? Who knows whether or not he'll get another chance to--]
[Since he’d just been Ported back in, he was luckily still in Heropa- so it doesn’t take long at all for him to get to the outskirts of the city, where Archie’s new house was. Gyarados had been there plenty enough times, too, so Blue was free to spend most of the trip panicking inside his mind. Not much time had passed here, had it? It was just Halloween, they’d been giving candy out and Red... Red had enjoyed it so much. He was so happy. He was asleep, he’d been right beside him and...]
[And now it was a day later. But back home it hadn’t, back home it had been a good week at least, a week of their usual and familiar routine at the Battle Tree. A week of peaceful life again. A week of staring at Red’s back and wishing... wishing things could have been different...]
[What he wanted now, he wasn’t sure. And that scared him.]
[He hops down off of Gyarados’s head as soon as the serpent slithers close enough to ground for him to make it, letting him enjoy the beach as he runs up to the house.] Red! RED!!!
[It doesn't take long for Blue to arrive at Archie's house, but for Red, pacing around behind the front door, it feels like a lifetime. Like maybe all of this could just be a dream or a fantasy that he made up in his own head. It's been a good twenty-four hours since he last slept at least, but Blue's voice had sounded so real.
[When he hears it again, muffled outside the front door, his heart begins to pound and he throws it open, freezing at the side of him bounding across the yard.
[Blue...
[Suddenly, Red can't move - he certainly can't speak. All he can do is stand there, stiff, while his eyes begin to burn.]
[Well, even if Red can't stammer his words out, he's not going to get a chance anyway, because the moment he throws open the door Blue is throwing his arms around him.]
[It's amazing how he ever forgot feeling like this, that he could not remember what it was like to be able to hold Red close without worrying that it would be unwanted. Between a week of normalcy, of the peace of home, and this.]
[Blue presses his forehead up against Red's and squeezes his arms around his shoulders, trying not to look so torn.] Red, I'm-- I'm here, now. It wasn't me, I didn't mean to leave...
[Not a moment after Blue has thrown his arms around Red and the older trainer is crumpling against him, fingers curling desperately around the fabric of Blue's shirt while Red's face finds its way into the crook of Blue's neck. It's all he can do to keep from crying, but he does, somehow. His body does tremble though, just slightly - maybe it's from holding on so hard, like Blue could evaporate any moment and leave him behind again.]
[He feels it, and he knows, and there’s nothing he can really do to stop it. The feeling of helplessness Blue can’t help has him sinking against Red’s shoulder, just glad to feel the other’s arms around him. It wasn’t a dream, they were really here, they really had found one another, the way things should have been.]
[He lets Red hold him like this for a long while, then turns his face against his neck and murmurs, tugging at his shirt.] Hey, let’s go home.
